TORAH, AVODAH, AND G'MILUT CHASADIM FOUNDATION OF
PARENT EDUCATION CURRICULUM

The core of Jewish life lies within the Jewish home. The strength of the Jewish community depends on educators, rabbis, teachers, and community leaders working as partners with parents to nurture Jewish identity and instill Jewish values in our children. To help build this partnership, the URJ Press has published CHAI: Learning for Jewish Life -- Parent Education.

This exciting new resource is designed for parents to discuss parenting from a Jewish perspective. Topics include talking to your children about God, prayer and spirituality, making holiday observances more meaningful for your family, and looking at parenting as tikkun olam. The book includes clear, easy-to-follow lesson plans and engaging handouts.

CHAI: Learning for Jewish Life is a flexible Jewish learning system for today's synagogue community. Composed of resources to strengthen every aspect of the educational process that touches the lives of our children, CHAI offers materials in the Curriculum Core areas (Torah, Avodah, and G'milut Chasadim), Family Education, Early Childhood Parent Education, Parent Education, and Teacher Training.

CHAI: Learning For Jewish Life--Parent Education is available in paperback from the URJ Press and retails for $20.00. For more information on this and other titles, visit the URJ Press Web site at www.URJPress.com or call (888) 489-8242.

The URJ Press is the book-publishing arm of the Union for Reform Judaism (formerly the Union of American Hebrew Congregations), the synagogue arm of the Reform Movement in North America. Uniting more than 1.5 million Reform Jews in 900 congregations across the United States and Canada, Union programs and services include music and book publishing, adult education opportunities, outreach to unaffiliated and intermarried Jews, and the Religious Action Center in Washington, DC.
