Helping Create Sense of Stability for Students Affected by Hurricane Katrina Rabbi Daniel Freelander, vice president of the Union for Reform Judaism, today announced that URJ Press, the publishing arm of the Union, has begun accommodating the needs of displaced students from congregational schools affected by Hurricane Katrina. Schools who have taken in students will be receiving complimentary volumes of educational materials including textbooks, workbooks, and additional resources. "Along with the concern we share with the hundreds of Jewish families affected by this ongoing tragedy, we must do all we can to help create a sense of stability for these young people," Rabbi Freelander said in a message to educators preparing for the start of the school year. "Students from the Gulf Coast have moved to other areas in the country. URJ Press is committed to making sure those students have the materials necessary to continue their education." Jewish schools affected by the Hurricane are asked to contact URJ Press at 800.489.8242 or press@urj.org for additional assistance. ### 9/05
